What to check

  • Growing stain or paint bubble. If the mark expands or blisters, moisture may still be present.
  • Soft or swollen trim. Lightly press the baseboard edge; spongy or deformed wood deserves a closer look.
  • Persistent window fog. If condensation lingers after airing out, moisture nearby may be the cause.
  • Squishy carpet or damp cabinet floor. Common around bathrooms, kitchens, and laundry areas.
